I recently had the opportunity to celebrate! my birthday. Now, birth”days” don’t exist in my world ~~ in my world they are birth”months”. I love them and I don’t care how old I get I just can’t seem to stop. This year my niece, Kerry, came down from the frozen tundra up North to visit. My husband and niece and a bunch of friends from the Green Parrot went out on a fishing trip aboard Capt. John’s Greyhound IV for an afternoon of hilarity and came back with more fish than any of us could believe. What a meal we ate that night!
The next day we went with another group of friends from Square One Restaurant on a bus trip to the Navy Base on Boca Chica for several hours of bowling for charity! This trip benefited the Key West Pops. No one on our team had bowled in 20-30 years and we were sure we’d be the laughing stock. As it turned out for us, bowling is like riding a bike ~~ our team won overall high score and we all came home with our trophies -- Golden Bowling Pin Bottle Openers! We were ecstatic! (Plus, Kerry won Highest Score Overall and Most Strikes. She went home with strict orders to keep her frequent flyer miles on the ready for our next bowling date!)
Overall over several days we had loads of fun and, in fact, wore Kerry out. She went back up North looking forward to going back to work to recuperate.
